To provide an amendment service during
the AIP conversion process, requires the replacement of existing 8-part
AIP files and pages to maintain a current AIP version. As such, file organisation
and maintenance of the paper copy are constant, and often, two or more
AIP paper copies are held - containing notes and status of data which
is cross referred to a current version.
Incorporation of amendments during the ICM process, involves
'cross mapping' amended data to the new 3-part location, as well as maintaining
the current 8-part AIP version.
A typical conversion process, from mapping to AIP re-issue
could span a period of several AIRAC and non AIRAC amendments. It is essential
to maintain the AIP in both formats until re-issue.
